“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” — Margaret Mead
Volunteer or Facilitate
Your time is the most valuable thing, right? So you want to pick the things that matter. When you volunteer or facilitate for a Rethink Thinking event, you are directly preparing youth for the fast-changing future in front of them. That’s some pretty awesome action. We’re looking for just those people. The ones who get what we’re doing, and who want to do it with us. And we suspect that’s you. So sign up. And be the wind.
Frequently Asked Questions
Volunteer, facilitator: what’s the diff?
A: Both are volunteer positions, and we love them both. It comes down to where your skills fit best for each event. Our volunteers help with everything from event organizing to registration to setting up electronics to handling international speakers. Our workshop facilitators are experts, scientists, business people, politicians, educators, authors and more who offer their guidance and support to Summit youth as they work through their inquiry projects. Facilitators may also be invited to work with us again during our ongoing programming through the year.
What’s in it for me?
A: Good. We’re glad you asked that question. At Rethink, we’re all about asking questions, and that’s a really good one. Being a part of the Rethink Thinking community means joining a growing family of people who are directly intentional about supporting youth to go after their interests and aspirations. This direct intentionality also means supporting Rethink Thinking as we work to equip young people with the skills they’re going to need for the future. Our volunteers help us create guided experiences for youth that they don’t otherwise get a chance to experience. A key perk? You get to experience these events, too. To feel the excitement and energy that characterize Rethink events. And to know that you’re pushing good change.
All right, I’m in. How do I sign up?
A: See the application form right next door to these words? Fill ‘er out. We’ll get back to you just as soon as we finish bouncing around the room, screaming and high-fiving each other.
